Netflix - Black Mirror
To promote Series 4 of the show for Netflix, we launched a campaign as unsettling and thought provoking as the show itself.
The campaign consisted of a series of eerily unbranded, technology-based, doomsday-esque headlines, with which we assaulted the unsuspecting public on the first day back to work after the Christmas break.
Whilst half of these were based on Black Mirror plot lines, the other half were based on real news stories, sparking much paranoia and debate around the campaign as to who was behind it. Was it Black Mirror? Or was it real?
The campaign ran nationally, centering on a tube station takeover at Old Street, bang in the heart of London's Silicon Roundabout, where digital billboards displayed footage of people being 'illegally' live streamed through their webcams, as commuters were handed unbranded webcam covers labeled with the ominous headline “Are you being watched?”.
